We're a competitor — Sorce is in the same category — and we'd rather you knew that up front. We're also not going to pretend Sonara is a worse product than it is. They've been refining the same set-and-forget model for years, and it works for the audience it's built for.

What Sonara actually does

Sonara is an AI auto-apply platform built on the autopilot model. You upload your resume, set filters, and the AI applies to matching roles in the background. Standard architecture for the category.

The AI submits via the company's career site (Greenhouse, Workday, Lever, etc.) — not just LinkedIn Easy Apply — which is on par with the better tools.

It auto-generates cover letters, tailors resume bullets per application, and provides a dashboard for tracking submitted apps.

What we liked

  • Polished UX. The interface is clean and well-designed.
  • AI agent quality. Cover letters and tailoring are competitive with peer tools.
  • Reliable autopilot. When set up well, the autopilot model delivers volume.
  • Mature dashboards. Application tracking is detailed.

What we didn't

  • No real free tier. Paid from the start. If you want to try AI auto-apply without committing money, Sonara isn't the path.
  • Web-first, no native mobile app. Phone-based hunters get a worse UX.
  • Autopilot misfires when filters loose. Universal to set-and-forget tools — your filters have to be tight.
  • Inventory size isn't published. Hard to do apples-to-apples comparison.
