Zookeeper - Louisiana Swamp and Jaguar Jungle

Zookeeper role at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans focusing on Central and South American species (Seba Bats, small mammals, alpaca, reptiles, amphibians, insects) with opportunities to cross-train in the Louisiana Swamp and Jaguar Jungle. Responsibilities include providing guest experiences through engaging education programs, tours for VIPs/donors, and behind-the-scenes encounters; maintaining daily records of animal health and behavior; implementing behavior modification and enrichment programs; assisting veterinary and curatorial staff; training and supervising volunteers and interns; ensuring safety and ethical standards; and contributing to conservation education and welfare. Required skills include strong time management, ability to work with dangerous carnivores and alligators, and the ability to work outdoors in variable conditions. Education: High School degree or equivalent; College credits in Biology or related field; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
