Job Summary
Zoning Administrator role overseeing all zoning provisions of the department, advising staff and external customers on zoning compliance and land use; supervises planners and plan reviewers; administers the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO); coordinates with Code Enforcement; prepares analyses for rezonings and site plans; reviews development plans and land-use documents; represents the county in meetings with developers, engineers, and community groups; conducts public meetings and workshops on UDO amendments; provides guidance to Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and Board of Commissioners; communicates zoning practices to the public; works with other agencies on special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban/Regional Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in progressively responsible roles directly related to zoning administration.
