Job Summary
Stock and maintain inventory behind the bar, ensuring ice bins, glassware, garnishes, and supplies are fully stocked and rotated per FIFO. Adhere to proper cleaning procedures by wiping countertops, washing equipment, and emptying bus tubs to prevent clutter. Provide direct support to bartenders by refilling guest beverages, pouring draft beer and wine, and assisting with non-alcoholic specialty drinks. Execute closing duties including trash removal, restocking wine and beer, and refilling the three-compartment sink. Offer proactive service to guests seated at the bar, high-top tables, and chefs' counters by bussing, resetting spaces, and fulfilling requests for condiments or additional items. Resolve customer complaints and communicate feedback to management while learning menu pairings. Work part-time shifts up to 29 hours per week, including weekends and holidays, with typical schedules from 2pm to 10pm.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available both morning and night
- Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs (including up and down stairs)
- Must be able to move and position self around the bar, the kitchen, and the basement
- Must be able to balance and relocate a tray with drinks and/or dishes
- Ascends/Descends between the basement and main floor
- Has reliable transportation
- Has the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and stay focused
- Stays well organized with a strong attention to detail
- Is able to follow directions in the moment, under time pressure, with a smile
- Can work long shifts that require standing/walking/bending/lifting throughout shift
- Has excellent communication skills
- Able to assist guests with order selection by providing knowledgeable and accurate information about all menu items
- Actively engages to learn how to pair the menu items with wines and beers
- Follows Roadhouse systems for wine service
- Resolves customer complaints and makes it right for the customer
- Follows the training compact and takes responsibility for his or her training
- Follows the three steps to great service and the five steps to handling a customer complaint
- Seeks manager/supervisor assistance with guests when appropriate
- Someone who takes responsibility and initiative to learn and grow
- Has a reputation for excellent relations with guests and front and back of house staff
- Has worked effectively as part of a team
