Job Summary
Operate CNC machining centers, loading and unloading parts with proper fixturing while monitoring performance and maintaining consistent quality. Perform in-process visual and dimensional inspections using precision equipment to verify parts meet engineering requirements before continuing production. Monitor tooling condition, document changes, and make offset adjustments to ensure dimensional conformity. Read engineering drawings, follow established manufacturing processes, and maintain clean work areas. Identify abnormal machine or process conditions, communicate concerns, and take ownership of work quality.
Required Qualifications
- CNC machining experience or relevant technical training
- solid mechanical foundation
- Experience operating CNC machining equipment
- completion of relevant CNC machining education or training
- Basic understanding of CNC machining processes and terminology
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- demonstrated ability to develop skill in reading and interpreting engineering drawings through prior technical training
- Familiarity with precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers
- Basic understanding of dimensional tolerances and part inspection
- Mechanical aptitude
- ability to understand how tooling, machine adjustments, and process conditions affect the finished part
- Ability to follow established manufacturing processes and work instructions

- Manual dexterity and visual ability necessary to handle precision components and perform dimensional inspections
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a CNC production or job shop environment
- Experience with Okuma, Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or similar CNC controls
- Experience operating Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs)
- Experience operating Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs)
- Experience operating multiple CNC machines
- Experience performing CNC machine setups
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Experience making tool and work offset adjustments
- Basic understanding of G-Code and M-Code
- Experience building tooling assemblies
- Experience with tool life monitoring and tool replacement
- Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, or other precision machined components
- Experience in aerospace, firearms, defense, medical device, or other precision manufacturing industries
