Job Summary
Collect, sort, and dispose of waste generated in the State Farm Arena by hand-separating items into landfill, compostable, bottles/cans, cardboard, mixed paper, and glass streams. Open every trash bag before separating items, as fans often consolidate waste. Complete a mandatory checklist before leaving each shift, with duration dependent on sorting efficiency and event attendance. Lift, push, and pull heavy equipment up to 200 lbs. while maintaining low contamination rates. Work a non-standard schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. New hires learn the process during training.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy equipment (up to 200 lbs.)
- Ability to work a non-standard schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays
- Punctual and reliable communicator
- Positive attitude and consistent motivation to work
- Sorters must keep contamination rates low
- Take direction from Hawks, Pritchard, and Levy employees
- Work well with all departments
