Zero Harm Coordinator

Job Summary
Implement facility safety policies and procedures ensuring full compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal rules. Serve as the ambassador of the Koppers Zero Harm Program locally and at the corporate level by coordinating on-site inspections, auditing physical conditions, and administering the Safe Permit to Work program. Lead accident and injury investigations, order safety gear, and conduct emergency drills to gauge site readiness. Mentor hourly employees on safe work practices, establish an employee-based safety committee, and coordinate with the site Safety Committee. Manage OSHA compliance programs, compile regulatory accident reports, oversee workers' compensation administration, and train contractors. Research industry standards and best practices to evaluate and improve health and safety methods.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on work ethic with the proficiency to put the health and well-being of our employees, environment and community first in an industrial atmosphere
- Previous work experience in the health and safety field is required
- Excellent organizational skills
- Computer proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a team environment is a must
- Strong leadership, communication, and training skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) related degree or; Other college degree with 1-2 years SHE related experience or; >5 years relevant SHE work experience
