Job Summary
Supervise assigned staff through performance coaching, career counseling, and conflict resolution while planning and coordinating outreach programs and library programming. Lead collection development and maintenance activities, prepare departmental reports, and monitor compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Set short-term operational goals, organize work for efficiency, and adapt strategies based on emerging trends in library administration. Act as Person-in-Charge on a routine basis as needed. This full-time role at the Centennial Hills Library requires a Master's in Library Science and one year of supervisory experience, with a pay range of $84,403 to $113,109 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Library Science (MLS or MLIS) from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association (ALA)
- One (1) year supervisory experience as a professional librarian in a related library department (e.g. Children's/Youth Services)
- Possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Nevada Driver's License at the time of hire
- Prior completion of Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's (LVCCLD) Person-in-Charge (PIC) Training or completion of core PIC Training within six (6) months of assuming the position
- District-provided AED/CPR certification must be completed within six (6) months of assuming the position
- Ability to implement strategic library services and objectives
- Ability to lead with professional composure
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) years professional librarian experience with at least two (2) years supervisory experience in a public library
