Job Summary
Youth Worker role providing safety, stability and connection for young people navigating significant challenges. Rotating roster with morning, afternoon, and sleepover shifts; shifts include 7:00am–3:00pm, 4:00pm–11:00pm, followed by a sleepover and handover in the early morning. Build positive, trusting relationships; provide calm, respectful guidance to help young people work toward goals; maintain accurate notes and assist with accessing services and community connections. Requires Certificate III or IV in Youth Work, Community Services or related field (or equivalent experience), experience with at-risk youth or residential settings preferred, trauma-informed understanding, de-escalation and safety skills, strong communication, WA Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check, First Aid (or willingness to obtain). Required Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Youth Work, Community Services or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting at-risk young people or working in a residential setting (desirable)
- WA Driver’s Licence
- Current Working with Children Check
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Understanding of trauma, adolescent development and related challenges
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build healthy, supportive relationships
- Reliability, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Ability to complete required notes and maintain a safe, welcoming environment
