Job Summary

Conduct individualized assessments, support youth goal-setting, and advocate with external agencies while maintaining accurate case files. Build trusting relationships using active listening and strength-based approaches, providing crisis intervention and guidance for safe decision-making. Assist with daily routines, meals, medication administration, and life skills development within a trauma-informed, supportive housing environment. Foster a home-like atmosphere with safety, stability, and positive behavior modeling. Facilitate hands-on activities, self-care opportunities, and educational support to promote youth independence. Maintain positive relationships with families and community members while documenting interactions. Perform household maintenance, critical incident reporting, and routine safety checks to ensure licensing standards are met.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care (CYC), Social Work, Human Services, or related field
  • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and vehicle
  • Proof of vehicle insurance (min. $2 million liability), registration and 3-year drivers abstract
  • 3+ years' experience supporting marginalized youth and vulnerable populations
  • 1+ years' experience managing youth case files and supporting individualized care plans
  • Knowledge and experience in harm reduction, trauma-informed, resiliency, and solution-focused practices
  • Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, capable of remaining calm in high-pressure situations
  • Experience supporting youth facing complex barriers, including mental health, substance use, poverty, trauma, LGBTQ2S+ identities, and newcomer/refugee experiences
  • Proficient in MS Office and database applications
  • Prior to successful employment with e4c, applicants are required to submit a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check
