Job Summary

Build positive, respectful, and culturally safe relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people ages 8-25. Promote social and emotional wellbeing through individual support and group activities while encouraging healthy lifestyle choices, resilience, and self-determination. Support participants to develop positive life goals through one-on-one mentoring, practical support, and cultural protocols integrated into program delivery. Facilitate activities fostering positive role modelling and pathways into education, training, and employment. Work collaboratively with families, Elders, schools, and government agencies to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, families, and communities
  • Proven ability to establish trusting and respectful relationships with young people and community members
  • Experience working collaboratively with government agencies, schools, community organisations, and service providers
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (not older than 6 months)
  • Current Working with children clearance
  • Current Australian unrestricted 'C' class Driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working within an Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation
  • Experience in youth mental health promotion, diversionary programs, or early intervention services
  • Experience facilitating cultural, leadership, sporting, or community engagement activities
