Job Summary
Conduct face-to-face daily contacts with assigned youth at various locations while managing behaviors through programmatic structure and maintaining helping relationships that emphasize accountability. Complete required documentation including discharge information, enter data promptly into the Juvenile Tracking System and ETO database, and examine case files to stay updated on youth history. Notify the Program Director immediately regarding youth crises, suspected illegal activity, or program incidents, and provide crisis intervention and first aid as necessary. Assist in coordinating youth activities, offer advocacy in health, education, and legal areas, and support new staff with on-the-job training. This part-time role requires flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with 85% travel across Georgia counties using a personal vehicle and 15% office time.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 months working with youth and families or a related field
- Clean driving record
- Active driver's license
- Vehicle registration
- Vehicle insurance
- Reliable transportation
- State mandated car insurance
- Clear result from a criminal background check by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice
- Clear drug screen results from the organization's designated medical facility
- Good verbal and writing skills
- Ability to assist with goal oriented casework
- Ability to manage conflict and perform well in crisis situations
- Ability to confront clients with problematic behaviors and set limits
- First Aid Certification (CPR)
- Ability to verify client's whereabouts by driving, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, climb up stairs and lift up to 15 lbs
- 85% travel to various GA counties
- 15% time in the office
- Use of own vehicle for tracking
