Job Summary
Youth Support Partner provides trauma-informed peer support to transition-aged youth at the Drop-in Center within the TAY Academy program, ensuring safe, inclusive, youth-driven environments; duties include intake and needs assessment, linking to housing, medical/healthcare, employment/education, mental health/substance use treatment, crisis intervention and de-escalation, advocacy and referrals, psycho-educational groups, and collaboration with service partners to maintain safety and inclusivity.
Required Qualifications
- Must have direct experience as a consumer (or Care-Giver of a consumer) of mental health services, homelessness, the juvenile justice system, child protective services, or special education.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a High School diploma.
- Completed Peer Specialist training preferred.
- Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment including crisis intervention and de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and Seeking Safety.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
