Job Summary
Youth Sports Instructor for martial arts programs (karate, boxing, kickboxing) responsible for the safety and guidance of children in the Youth Sports Program, delivering values-based instruction aligned with YMCA four core values (honesty, caring, respect, responsibility), supervising practices and games, maintaining equipment safety, and communicating with parents and staff to foster a positive, family-friendly environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Experienced in instructing in a youth recreational setting in a variety of sporting activities
- Instructors should display a willingness to assist children develop a positive attitude about fair play and teamwork
- Must have excellent communication skills, decision making skills, and the ability to be a strong role model
- Enthusiastic, positive and engaging
- A comprehensive understanding of YMCA policies, building operations as they apply to the areas being used
- May require specialty certification depending on area assigned (CATCH, HEPA, ETC)
