Job Summary
Part-time Youth Sports Official responsible for officiating multiple youth sports (soccer, basketball, flag football, floor hockey, and volleyball) indoors at 308 schools or outdoors on Park District fields, under the site supervisor. Duties include officiating the assigned sport, effectively communicating with staff, participants, and spectators, and maintaining safety and order while managing program operations. Attend trainings and meetings; assist in field/gym upkeep; perform closing procedures; perform other duties as assigned. Requirements include being at least 16 years old, knowledge of sport-specific rules, strong decision-making and organizational skills, ability to work independently or in a team, with CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred or willing to obtain, and alignment with the park district values. Part-time hours range from 5 to 15 per week with a pay rate of $15-$17 per hour. Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 16 years of age
- Have a knowledge of sports and the specific rules and regulations that pertain to each sport in which you will be officiating
- Excellent decision-making and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
- Current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid preferred or willing to obtain certifications
- Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with the stated values of the park district
