Job Summary
Supervise children in a residential emergency shelter, acting as a mentor and maintaining appropriate ratios while ensuring a safe, healthy environment. Oversee resident participation in group and recreational activities, encourage completion of daily chores and hygiene tasks, and provide one-on-one support as needed. Document progress and incident reports accurately, immediately reporting extreme behavioral changes or safety concerns. Monitor hygiene and health problems, respond to fire alarms and drills, and maintain unit cleanliness. Complete mandated trainings, attend assigned meetings, use the TRC vehicle appropriately, and adhere to agency policies. Maintain a clean driving record and possess valid license and computer skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- One year's experience in childcare
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Must be able to use a computer and able to learn software programs
- Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language
- Must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be able to lift 0-25 lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally lift 25-50 lbs.
- Must be able to rarely lift over 50 lbs.
- Must be able to frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force
- Must be able to occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force
- Must be able to rarely push/pull over 45 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk throughout the work day
- Must be able to occasionally stoop
- Must be able to occasionally kneel
- Must be able to occasionally crouch
Desired Qualifications
- Degree preferred
- One year's experience in childcare preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish –preferred)
