Job Summary
Youth Specialist provides academic, vocational, and life skills guidance to youth participants and their families within a positive youth development setting. Develops and monitors Individual Service Plans, tracks client progress toward goals, and maintains documentation in compliance with policies. Connects youth and families to community resources and delivers follow-up services per contract guidelines. Responsibilities include assessing and enrolling eligible youth, developing individualized service plans with families and service providers, providing mentorship, academic support, job readiness training, life skills instruction, creating tailored learning environments, monitoring progress and providing feedback, facilitating community-based activities, maintaining timely case documentation, working with families to address barriers, and occasionally providing transportation to participants; ensures adherence to safety procedures and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (required for Big Island youth programs only)
- One to two years of related experience or training, or equivalent
- Experience with at-risk youth in a human service setting
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle access
- Background checks: Sex Offender Registry, Criminal History, and Adult/Child Protective Services clearance
