Job Summary
Coach assigned players ages 5–12 in Junior and Rising Rowdies programs, delivering weekly training sessions focused on technical skills, game awareness, and teamwork. Create a safe, inclusive environment while teaching drills, fostering sportsmanship, and building confidence. Assist with field setup, equipment breakdown, and adhere to all coaching curriculum and policies. Represent the Tampa Bay Rowdies professionally on and off the field. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff. Part-time role (5–10 hours/week) with Wednesday evening and Saturday morning sessions; camp opportunities up to 35 hours/week. Complimentary tickets to select home matches. Requires U.S. Soccer Grassroots License, valid driver's license, background check, and SafeSport training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the game of soccer
- Minimum U.S. Soccer Grassroots Coaching License required
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about youth player development
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Available to work weekday evenings and Saturday mornings
- Available for at least 6 of the 8 Junior/Rising Rowdies sessions each season
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successfully complete a comprehensive background check and SafeSport training prior to employment
- Ability to stand, walk, run, and actively coach for extended periods
- Ability to demonstrate soccer techniques and drills
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain
Desired Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience with youth athletes is preferred
