Job Summary
Part-time Youth Shelter Advocate to work in Briarpatch Youth Shelter in Fitchburg, WI. Responsibilities include documenting client services and required paperwork, completing intake paperwork and orientation for new residents, meal preparation and daily chores (including laundry), maintaining shelter policies, ensuring a safe and supportive environment, coordinating educational, skill-building, or recreational activities for youth, administering medications as needed, providing transportation to support academic, employment, and health needs, documenting contacts in case files, and communicating at shift changes. The role requires flexibility to participate in continuing education and programming outside the usual schedule; work on inclement weather days and some holidays is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years' experience working or volunteering with teens
- Background in youth work or human services (preferred)
- Ability to work nights and stay awake
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Reliable transportation to work (preferred)
- Valid driver's license (preferred)
- Non-Exempt status
