Job Summary
The Youth Services Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing comprehensive services for children and teens, including program development, collection management, and promoting library resources. The role requires training and supervising staff and volunteers, ensuring quality service, and collaborating with the Branch Manager on departmental goals. Key responsibilities include developing engaging programs, conducting outreach to schools and community organizations, and maintaining a safe and inviting youth services area. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in library science, with experience in library settings and working with youth.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited institution
- Previous professional library experience
- Eligibility for Virginia State Library certification
- Experience in working with children of various ages

- Extensive knowledge of children's books and materials
