Job Summary
As a Youth Resident Camp Counselor, you will create engaging experiences for campers, promote a safe and supportive environment, lead activities, and assist fellow team members. You need to be able to work from June through August, exhibit strong communication with children and parents, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity. The role requires a high school diploma, being at least 18 years old, and participating in necessary training for CPR and First Aid. Physical activity and the ability to clear background checks are also required.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- 18 years of age
- Willing to participate in training to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification
- Clear local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting
- Meet county/state licensing requirements
- Must be able to physically engage in activities with children
- Must be able to pick-up at least 35 pounds
- Must have visual acuity to observe children
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in supervision of children
- Experience as a junior counselor or completion of CIT program
- Skilled in teaching crafts, songs, stories, games, sports, and aquatics
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work all training and summer camp dates
