Job Summary
Lead children ages 2 to 17 through outdoor activities, cooking classes, and barnyard tours while maintaining guest safety and animal welfare. Assist with event setup, moving tables and chairs, and organizing program supplies in the farm kitchen or classroom. Greet and check-in visitors, answer questions, and direct them to property resources as needed. Support chef instructors with food prep, dishwashing, and station setup during youth cooking programs. Educate attendees about The Trustees mission and sell memberships using Siriusware software. Liaise with private lessees for birthday parties and field trips, enforce property rules, and keep event areas clean and orderly. Perform shift opening and closing procedures, process credit card transactions, and report safety concerns or maintenance needs to staff. Work variable hours up to 20 weeks, often on weekends, holidays, and evenings, reporting directly to the Youth Programs Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Outgoing, friendly, enthusiastic demeanor
- Responsible, committed attitude with exceptional attention to detail and safety
- Dependability and availability to work weekends, holidays and occasional evenings
- Articulate, confident, and calm demeanor when confronted by uncooperative visitors or handling emergencies
- Ability to work independently
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems including processing credit card transactions and logging hours
- Ability to communicate regularly with staff to report safety concerns, incidents, maintenance needs and program assessment
