Job Summary
Youth Programs Associate at Altea (Part-Time): Deliver and lead youth programming across Active Kids Club, Climbing Club, birthday parties, youth camps, and structured play; supervise and provide high-quality childcare for children from six weeks to twelve years; teach climbing safety, spotting, and harness use; monitor safety hazards, complete daily logs, and follow protocols; engage with parents to create a trusted handoff and positive family experience; maintain allergy records and authorized pick-up lists; ensure a warm, engaging environment aligned with safety and trust across sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or coursework in early childhood education, child development, recreation, or a related field — or equivalent direct experience
- At least one year of experience working with children from six weeks to twelve years of age in a programming, childcare, or recreational environment
- Additional certifications in childcare, rock climbing, or youth programming are an asset
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C, maintained annually (training hosted and paid for by Altea)
- Criminal Background Check — Vulnerable Sector required prior to commencement of training and/or work
