Job Summary
Guide and supervise energetic, curious kids during daily activities including homework time, outdoor play, arts & crafts, sports, and reading. Support the Afterschool Lead Counselor to keep transitions smooth while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming space in compliance with state childcare licensing standards. Communicate positively with both children and parents, acting as a friendly role model who stays calm under pressure. Work weekdays from 3PM to 6PM, with occasional Saturday evening shifts, requiring flexibility for holidays and special events. Prior childcare experience is beneficial, and you must pass state-required background checks. Join a supportive team dedicated to empowering, inspiring, and playing with children every day.
Required Qualifications
- 16 or older
- genuine passion for working with children
- strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- calm under pressure
- Ability to pass state-required background checks
- Be on your feet (walking, standing, bending) for most of your shift
- Be ready to jump into indoor and outdoor activities
- Be adaptable and ready to work in a high-energy environment (noise and all!)
Desired Qualifications
- Prior childcare or youth programming experience
