Job Summary
Greet students at the end of their school day and organize activities including homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects. Lead indoor and outdoor enrichment initiatives while creating unique clubs such as career readiness, cooking, anime, and dance. Maintain a secure environment by monitoring student behavior, managing group dynamics, and ensuring safety protocols are followed during all after-school events. Adapt activities to meet diverse student needs and encourage enthusiastic participation. This part-time, non-exempt role requires a background in after-school programs or youth recreation, strong communication skills, and a valid TB test and background check. Bilingual Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities
- To be a good communicator and be able to talk to both kids and parents comfortably
- College transcripts that show you have 48+ college credit units completed OR take and pass an academic proficiency exam
- To get a TB test (and provide proof that it is negative) and pass a Live Scan background check
- If the school you will be working at requires a Covid-19 vaccination, then you must provide documentation that shows you are fully Covid-19 vaccinated
- Monday to Friday (required)
- Reliably commute before starting work (required)
