Job Summary
Youth Program Instructors at Rock Spot Climbing provide excellent customer service and deliver high-quality instruction by running weekly climbing classes and special programming for youth, using prepared lesson plans and curriculum, while ensuring a safe, positive learning environment. Responsibilities include teaching hard skills and technique to small groups, maintaining professional communication with students and parents, collaborating with team members, adapting lessons to individual needs, and performing floor staff duties. Requires CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain), ability to work nights/weekends, and physical capability to lift up to 50lbs. Education/recreation-related schooling preferred; prior indoor climbing and belaying experience and experience teaching/coaching hands-on skills or sports are desired.
Required Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid (or willing to acquire)
- Experience teaching/coaching a hands on skill or sport
- Experience working with youth of all ages
- Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
- Ability to work nights/weekends
- Ability to engage an audience
- Detail oriented and organized
- Punctual and reliable
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs
