Job Summary
Youth Program Instructor at Rock Spot Climbing responsible for providing excellent customer service to young students and families by running weekly climbing classes and special programming. Teach hard skills and technique in small groups, maintain a safe positive learning atmosphere for a 10-week session, plan and monitor lesson plans/curriculum, and adapt lessons to individual needs. Communicate professionally with students and parents, work as part of a team, perform floor staff functions, and uphold Rock Spot Climbing values. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and hold CPR/First Aid credentials (or be willing to acquire). Requires ability to work nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid (or willing to acquire)
- Experience teaching/coaching a hands on skill or sport
- Experience working with youth of all ages
- Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
- Ability to work nights/weekends
- Ability to engage an audience
- Detail oriented and organized
- Punctual and reliable
- Schooling in education, recreation, or a related field preferred
- Experience creating or implementing lesson plans
