Job Summary
Promote and facilitate access to the Youth Private Rental Access Program across Melbourne's Southern Metro region by delivering Housing Clubs to build tenancy readiness and assessing young people's suitability for private rental. Provide case management support to clients securing accommodation, manage and reconcile brokerage funds, and collaborate with the YFS case management team to ensure safe and sustainable housing outcomes. Work occasionally on Saturdays to support young people attending private rental inspections and tenancy-related activities at the Upton Road youth refuge in St Kilda. This fixed-term, part-time position (30 hours per week) is based within an energetic team environment focused on supporting young men, women, and families at risk of homelessness.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related discipline
- relevant experience in community or social services
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality support to young people, families, and young parents in crisis and transitional settings
- Strong understanding of youth homelessness, crisis intervention, and collaborative service delivery approaches
- Proven experience engaging and supporting young people with complex needs, including mental health, AOD, out-of-home care, and adolescent violence
- Well-developed assessment skills
- knowledge of trauma-informed, attachment, strengths-based, and developmental frameworks
- Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain compliant case records, and respond effectively to critical incidents and safety concerns
- A current and valid Victorian Employee Working With Children Check
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence
