Job Summary
Youth Peer Support Specialist provides one-on-one coaching, advocacy, and group facilitation to youth (13-25) recovering from mental health, behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders. Role emphasizes sharing personal recovery experiences, guiding youth through traditional systems, promoting community integration, modeling recovery, and collaborating with clinical teams while transporting clients as needed. Requires credentials, transportation, and compliance with relevant standards. Full-time, non-exempt position in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED / HSE
- Must self identify as a former or current consumer of mental health, behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder services
- Must hold, or be eligible to obtain within 75 days of starting, a valid Certified Peer Specialist Credential from the Missouri Credentialing Board
- Be eligible to obtain Youth Peer Specialist credential
- Must hold or obtain by start date, MO Class E Driver's License (Class D for IL Residents)
- Proof of continuous auto insurance
- Must meet CCC's Motor Vehicle Record standards policy and have reliable transportation
- Must self-identify as former/current consumer of behavioral health services
- Ability to provide one-on-one support, coaching, advocacy, and group facilitation
- Experience with systems navigation and community resources
