Job Summary
Create the vision and strategic direction for the parish's Middle and High School youth initiatives in collaboration with the Pastor. Plan, organize, and implement holistic programs, retreats, and service activities that align with Catholic doctrine while communicating schedules to parents, youth, and volunteers. Recruit, train, and evaluate volunteers; manage the annual budget and oversee expenses with the Business Office. Ensure all team members complete VIRTUS child safety training and maintain confidentiality. Work flexible day, evening, and weekend hours, rotating between remote and onsite duties with some travel.
Required Qualifications
- Practicing Roman Catholic with a commitment to his/her own faith life.
- Understands the importance of the parishioners and the community.
- Possess a servant-leadership mindset.
- Possess good listening and empathy skills; ability to recognize and handle problems within scope of job duties and to refer problems outside of the scope of job duties to the appropriate party.
- Maintain a positive, upbeat, self-starting, solutions-centered, can-do attitude.
- Be able to thrive with minimal supervision.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to compose correspondence, minutes and/or reports.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Advanced MS Office experience, including Outlook (email and calendar/scheduling), Word, PowerPoint, Excel; GoogleDocs, GoogleSheets, GoogleSlides; Apple (iOS) and various social media platforms experience including but not limited to Instagram and Facebook.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the function of the job.
- Must be up to date or complete the VIRTUS child safety training.
- Must pass a background check.
- The nature of this position requires a highly flexible schedule comprised of day, evening, and weekend hours.
- While performing duties, employee has to sit for long periods of time.
- The position also requires some standing, stooping, bending, and moderate activity.
- While performing the duties of this position, employees may frequently lift 10- 25 pounds.
- Employee is expected to work both remotely and onsite.
- Some travel is required throughout the year.
