Job Summary
Coordinate Sunday School and youth group programs, ensuring safety and supervision for all participants. Organize Vacation Bible School, manage corps programming including Sunbeam and Adventure Corps, and facilitate transportation for youth activities. Recruit and train adult volunteers, maintain ministry records, and link social service clients with community programs. Attend divisional meetings and conferences to share best practices, while driving the van to transport youth to Salvation Army services. Engage in relational ministry, spiritual conversations, and prayer with individuals and the public. Assist officers with seasonal expansion tasks and develop community outreach plans to educate residents about church services.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License, approved to drive a 12-passenger van
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and creative
- Great communication skills; written & oral
- Must have basic computer skills to access the internet and create correspondence, flyers, ministry resources, lesson plans, etc.
- Must be available for work and activities on Sundays
- All three PA Clearances required upon employment and thereafter upon renewal date: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Request for Criminal Record, and Fingerprint based federal criminal history
- PA Mandated and Permissive Reporting and The Salvation Army's KeepSAfe training required
- Must be committed to the mission of The Salvation Army
Desired Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Youth Ministry/Counseling preferred
- Prior work/volunteering experience with Salvation Army programming preferred
- Prior work experience with children in a recreational and/or educational setting
