Job Summary
Plans, coordinates, and carries out the day-to-day operations of parish youth ministry, including youth gatherings, small groups, social events, service opportunities, retreats, conferences, youth worship opportunities, and other approved initiatives. Collaborates with staff and volunteers to implement catechetical content and curriculum; presents the Catholic faith to youth; builds pastoral relationships with youth and families; communicates with parents and parish staff; coordinates sacramental preparation (Confirmation and Christian initiation for teens); designs and leads retreats, conferences, service opportunities, and other youth ministry events; recruits and supervises volunteers; coordinates logistics and budgets; collaborates with school leadership and related ministries to integrate youth into parish life; participates in fundraising and awareness campaigns; ensures Safe Environment compliance and professional boundaries; maintains records and supports program administration.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in youth ministry or related field
- Catholic faith and alignment with parish mission
- Safe Environment training and background checks
- Ability to plan and coordinate events, retreats, and curricula
- Strong communication skills with youth, families, and volunteers
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Budgeting and organizational skills
- Collaboration with clergy and staff
