Youth Mentoring Program Driver

Job Summary
Conduct safe transportation for grades 6-12 students to and from the SHIM Youth Mentoring Program by navigating multiple daily routes in the South Hills. Coordinate driving schedules with the Youth Mentoring Manager and perform vehicle maintenance tasks including checking oil, fluids, tires, fueling, cleaning, and inspections. Demonstrate positive interactions and behavior management while building trusted relationships with students, and communicate their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs to the Manager. Support program supervision during off hours and attend staff meetings and professional development trainings. Maintain a calm, patient attitude while working under pressure and adhering to all safety regulations and driving practices.
Required Qualifications
- Valid PA driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Act 33/34 clearance
- NSOR clearance
- FBI clearance
- Completed Mandated Reporter Training
- Agreement to comply as a Mandated Reporter
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive, calm attitude
- Demonstrated ability and comfort operating large vehicles
- Sensitivity and awareness of working with a multi-cultural community
- Ability to positively guide and direct students
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as a team member
- Willingness to work evening and occasional weekend hours
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to drive and operate a large vehicle
