Job Summary
Provide direct supervision and care for male youths in a REGIONS Staff Secure Program, maintaining a safe, trauma-informed, gender-responsive environment. Deliver group activities and therapeutic programming, mediate youth conflicts, and utilize behavioral techniques (including DBT coaching) to support youths’ social, emotional, and behavioral development. Responsibilities include monitoring youth whereabouts, completing logs and forms, facilitating discharge planning, and enforcing facility policies; promote respect and belonging, manage crisis situations with de-escalation techniques, and ensure professional boundaries with youth and families. The role involves evening/night shifts, weekends, holidays, mandatory overtime, potential exposure to challenging behaviors, and travel within the community as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or higher
- Experience working with at-risk or court-involved adolescents
- Experience in residential treatment settings (preferred)
- Bi-lingual ability (Spanish/English) preferred
- Valid CT driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to transport clients to appointments and into the community
- Willingness to work evening/night shifts, weekends and holidays
- Overtime available as needed
- Capacity to become Safe Crisis Management certified
- Training in ethics, boundaries, suicide prevention, first aid/CPR/AED, PREA
