Job Summary
Youth Literary Advisory Board Member (YLAB) at 826 Boston is a paid, part-time, non-exempt position for students in grades 9–12. Members meet in-person twice a week, contribute to creating and publishing an original publication, participate in workshops and mentorship, and help plan events with the Boston Athenaeum. Responsibilities include attending meetings, coordinating transportation, logging hours, drafting and revising writing, providing peer feedback, moodboarding for the book’s aesthetic, selecting a book title, collaborating on layout with publishing staff, and assisting with events. Compensation is $15.45/hour with a one-year Boston Athenaeum membership; start date is September 29, 2026.
