Job Summary
Directly supervise program participants and ensure their safety while planning and implementing age-appropriate academic and enrichment activities. Collaborate with school personnel and families to coordinate student services, provide positive behavior guidance, and maintain a clean, organized space. Lead sports, games, and curriculum activities while monitoring youth behavior and responding to critical incidents. Ensure program compliance with school district and YMCA requirements. Perform general housekeeping and emergency response duties as needed. Work Mon-Thurs 1:30pm-6pm and Fri 1pm-6pm.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- high school diploma/GED
- minimum qualifications for a highly qualified Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide in the district in which the assigned school operates
- AA/AS degree
- 48 college units
- passing score on district's Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam
- Fingerprint clearance from DOJ/FBI
- TB test clearance within 60 days prior to employment or prior to working on a school site
- Completion of Child Abuse Prevention training prior to working with program participants
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification
- Adult and Child/Infant certification for CPR/AED, and First Aid
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification obtained within 30 days of hire
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification from American Red Cross
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification from American Heart Association
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification from American Safety & Health Institute
