Job Summary

Youth Housing Support Staff (Swing Shift) at Cocoon House provides a safe, supportive residential environment for teens in Everett and Monroe. On-site roles include building supportive relationships, modeling healthy boundaries, assessing emergencies, documenting case information, coordinating with case managers, and delivering meals and activities. Responsibilities encompass de-escalation, trauma-informed and equity-focused care, intake/exits, log maintenance, transportation for youth, and collaboration with staff to implement youth plans. Shifts include 3:30pm–11:30pm on various days; starting wage $21/hour with a $1.50/hour multilingual differential. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years old, 6 months youth work experience, background clearance, valid driver’s license and insurance, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or high school equivalency
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • 6 months minimum of experience working with youth
  • DCYF background clearance
  • Acceptable driver’s abstract with no more than 2 violations within last 3 years
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Ability to diffuse escalated youth
  • Ability to record and document information on forms as required for case planning and CPS reporting
  • Familiarity with local services and how to access them
  • Ability to assess dangerous, emergency situations and access emergency services
  • Commitment to professional boundaries with youth
  • Acceptance of a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural/spiritual practices
  • Commitment to trauma-informed practices

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to youth development and trauma-informed care
  • Experience working with youth or in residential settings preferred
  • Ability to de-escalate crises and maintain professional boundaries
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Bilingual skills with differential pay a plus
