Job Summary
Youth Housing Support - Awake Overnight provides housing and supportive services to at-risk youth experiencing homelessness, with a focus on mental health, life skills, and crisis management. The role is a permanent full-time overnight position (10-hour shift 10:00 PM–8:00 AM) reporting to the Manager of Youth Supportive Housing, operating as part of a wraparound care team to help youth settle, manage stressors, and pursue daily goals. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree (Social Work or Child & Youth Care), 1-2 years' experience with vulnerable populations, and experience facilitating programming; ASIST/NVCI training, First Aid, and Food Safe certifications are assets. The position may require temporary relocation for operational needs; immunizations and a Criminal Record Check are part of the requirements. The role is based in Victoria, BC, Canada, with in-person remote option. The organization offers yearly training allowances and opportunities for professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Child & Youth Care
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working with vulnerable populations and at-risk youth
- ASIST training or NVCI training are assets (not required)
- Emergency First Aid certificate
- Food Safe Certificate
- Immunization records (TB testing)
- Criminal Record Check
