Job Summary
Build intentional, positive relationships with youth experiencing homelessness and human trafficking through direct supervision, management, and program development. Engage participants in educational, vocational, and life skill programming while ensuring their safety and whereabouts at all times. Provide trauma-informed, individualized services across residential and non-residential settings, including intakes, discharges, and crisis intervention. Maintain daily ETO database entries and collaborate with community agencies, families, and placement partners. Work 20 hours monthly with up to 30 hours weekly, potentially including holidays and weekends, while navigating varied terrains and inclement weather. Complete mandatory trainings, assessments, and CPR/First Aid certification as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in a human or social services related degree
- Two years' experience working with adolescent or disadvantaged populations in relevant human services, medical, educational, legal, or closely related positions
- Life, volunteer, and internship experience
- Lived experience of homelessness
- Current and valid driver's license
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Federal, state, and local background check investigations
- Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours as well as Holidays and weekends as needed
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
- Ability to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Ability to observe details within close range
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
- Ability to move within the office to access files and office equipment
- Ability to ascend/descend stairways to monitor the space within a two-story building
- Ability to regularly move items up to 40 pounds while ascending/descending stairways
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors in a human or social services related degree is strongly preferred
- Experience can substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis
- Willingness to acquire basic concepts in care coordination for adolescents and young adults and incorporate into service-provision
- High degree of sensitivity to and respect for diversity and cultural issues involved in working with individuals of varying ethnicities and income
- Willingness to utilize training opportunities in support of personal and professional growth, competence development, and to increase overall capacity to serve youth every day
- Proficient with standard computer operating systems
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite, online databases, and other programs and websites as required
- Lived experience of homelessness considered an asset
