Job Summary
Facilitate day-to-day services for culturally diverse youth through individual mentoring, group skill-building activities, and crisis response. Serve as the primary contact for youth on the waiting list, assisting with application support for housing programs and coordinating with community resources to remove barriers. Help participants navigate the Homeless Youth Continuum, develop Initial Goal Plans, and practice healthy communication skills while addressing issues of racial equity. Provide operational support for the Day Services Program, including maintaining cleanliness and food program logistics, and ensure timely documentation of all services and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of relevant experience and competency working with adolescents and young adult
- Valid driver license
- Ability to be insured and drive participants in agency vehicle and car share
- Must pass pre-employment background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit
- Ability to meet youth worker core competencies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with homeless populations and/or people with mental health and substance use concerns
- Oregon Food Handler's card
- BA/BS coursework in related field and/or training in crisis intervention highly desirable (social services, counseling, prevention services)
