Youth Engagement Specialist (Days)

Job Summary
Provide face-to-face support and intervention to assigned youth across the Youth Engagement Center, Safe Haven, and Rights of Passage settings. Conduct actual, intentional contact with every youth throughout each shift while performing intakes, discharges, phone answers, and assisting with basic needs. Engage youth in educational, vocational, and life-skill programming, and collaborate with community partners to support plan outcomes. Maintain safety and security of buildings and property, and offer trauma-informed services to assist youth during relapse and crisis. Assist with documentation, ETO reporting, and shift change meetings as directed. Commit to personal growth through organization training and ensure all agency policies, including Child Protection, are followed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of adolescent development and behaviors
- Ability to relate to at-risk youth
- Exhibit empathy with the joys and pains of others

- Current (valid) license
- Successful pass of federal, local, and state background checks
- Ability to perform the physical activities and mental abilities of the job with or without accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Further education in Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology
