Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist at Riverside Unified School District sites, leading HEARTS and Prime Time activities, providing academic support, supervising and mentoring youth, implementing programs, ensuring safe, organized spaces, and modeling positive behavior; requires a High School diploma or GED, experience with children, ability to review and implement district-provided lesson plans, knowledge of youth development, a driver’s license/California ID, and completion of TB, drug screen, fingerprint checks, plus CPR & First Aid within 6 months.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Must pass the School District Instructional Aide Test
- Experience working with children
- Able to review and implement lesson plans provided by the District
- Knowledge of youth development stages
- Early Childhood education credits are a plus
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
- Ability to deal with the general public
- Ability to plan and implement quality activities for youth
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Interpersonal skill development and maintenance
- Valid State Driver's License or California ID card
- Must clear TB, Drug Screen and Fingerprint check
- CPR & First Aid Certifications - required within 6 months of hire date
