Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent role for married couples to reside on Milton Hershey School campus and oversee a student home of approximately 813 youths. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role progresses from Flex Houseparent to Placed Houseparent, with benefits including relocation assistance and a comprehensive benefits package. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license with driver-vans certification ability, experience with youth, and a legally married status for at least two years (both spouses must be age 27 or older). The work is on-campus and full-time, with a schedule that includes extended duty periods and off days, and adherence to campus policies on health, safety, and conduct.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
