Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist position for a two-person, married-couple team serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and oversee budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-on/three-off schedule and may transition into a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; relocation assistance and paid training are provided. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; two-year minimum marriage and both spouses must apply separately.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples married at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
