Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes (approx. 8–13 students) and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and engagement in academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; eventual placement as Placed Houseparents living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total compensation around $168,000 per couple, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse, married-couple requirement for employment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Compliance with campus rules (smoke-free and weapon-free)
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel activities
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
