Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist for Milton Hershey School, a two-person Flex Houseparent role where a married couple resides on-campus with 8–13 students to provide supervision, guidance, and support. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent position with the same group of students. The role requires relocation to Hershey, PA, offers full-time employment with a total compensation package for the couple including housing and benefits, and provides relocation assistance and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse, legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
