Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent role on Milton Hershey School’s campus in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of ~8–13 students, and oversee daily routines, activities, and wellbeing. Responsibilities include supervision and mentorship, medication administration, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and maintaining a structured, family-like environment. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person ($46,917) with comprehensive health and retirement options, relocation assistance, paid time off, and on-campus housing and meals. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
