Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA, for Milton Hershey School. The role pairs two legally married spouses to care for a group of approximately 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, supervision of household routines and student schedules, administration of medications, transportation to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, daily devotions and chapel attendance, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning toward a placed houseparent assignment living with the same students. The schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with opportunities for relocation assistance and paid training. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement options, PTO, and on-campus housing and meals while on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role model for students
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
