Job Summary
Milton Hershey School seeks a two-person, legally married couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents in Hershey, PA. The role involves residing in on-campus student homes to provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance for a group of about 813 students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and participating in developmental and recreational activities, and leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The position starts with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle and can transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Relocation assistance is provided, and benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, retirement savings, paid time off, and housing/utilities meals while on duty. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual applications. Qualifications emphasize youth-focused experience, a valid driver’s license, physical ability to lift, and the ability to lead faith-based activities within a smoke-free, weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- Capability to drive student home vans (certification)
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA
- Clean driving record
