Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role at Milton Hershey School for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, supervision, and guidance for 8–13 students, manage household routines, supervise schedules, administer medications, drive to activities, plan and engage in developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions, accompany students to Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; opportunity to transition to Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits provided; salary per person is $46,917 with total compensation around $180,000 per couple. Requires two-year married status, age 27+, and adherence to campus policies.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
